Kana Winery 2007 Old Vines, Yakima Valley, Kana Winery 2006 Old vines, Yakima Valley Red Wine is 85% Lemberger from the old block of vines at Les Vignes de Marcoux, a noteworthy vineyard in the northwestern reaches of the Yakima Valley. These low yielding vines were planted in 1979, which is ancient when it comes to the relatively youthful Washington wine industry. The wine was rounded out with 10% of the blend being Syrah from Rustic Ridge Vineyard and 5% Grenache from Ciel du Cheval Vineyard. This well-balanced and fruit-driven red is a very versatile food wine.
